YSDM MEDIA MEET AND GREET EVENT

The inaugural Yoruba Self-Determination Movement  (YSDM) Publicity Media Meet and Greet event took place on Thursday 13th October 2022. 
The event which was organized by the Yorùbá Self-Determination Movement Publicity was well attended by both mainstream media houses and also the Yorùbá World Media.
Media houses present at the occasion include The Guardian, The Vanguard newspapers, Tribune newspapers, Duduspree.com, TLM, Podium International, Opera, City pulse, Shybell Media, Toplotech radio, and Yoruba World Media. 

In his speech, the Vice chairman Mr. Banji Ayiloge stated why Yoruba people have chosen to exit Nigeria. In his remarks, insecurity of lives and properties and marginalization of Yoruba people in the scheme of things amongst others make up reasons why Yoruba people have chosen to opt-out of the union. According to Mr. Ayiloge, the Yoruba self-determination movement under the leadership of Emeritus Professor Banji Akintoye has written a letter to President Buhari, stating clearly the atrocities being committed against the Yoruba people by the Fulani, such as kidnapping, raping of women, young and old, destruction of farmlands, etc.


According to him, letters have also been written to the UN security council and General Assembly. 
The Director of Publicity. Titi Aboyade-Cole unveiled committees constituting the Movement, they include Diplomacy, Welfare, Publicity & Media, Conflict resolution, finance, and security. 
The directors of committees briefed gentlemen of the press on the functions and activities of their committees. They further stressed the need to have a central coordinating body for the self-determination campaign.
The YSDM is a Movement consisting of over seventy Yoruba self-determination groups.
The YSDM DIALOGUE show has also been announced and billed to debut on YSDM’s YouTube channel on Monday 17th October 2022 at 8:30 pm. 

The event was engaging and interactive.
